Building the AMC of the Future: A New Look at Portfolio Management

A new body of research examines the strategic importance of portfolio management, a more refined approach to optimizing scarce capacity.  This study introduces a new methodology for assessing and comparing the profitability of an AMC’s specialty business mix.   Case studies will be developed with UHC members whose specialty business mix has improved.  The study will look at the operational implications of changing an AMC’s portfolio of specialty services. Presentation planned at the January 2009 UHC Member Board of Directors meeting.
